WWWStat4Mac Features
- Drag and drop processing. Automatically processes log files in BOTH Common Log Format and in WebStar enhanced format that are dropped onto it. No need for reconfiguration or for recompilation.
- FAT Binary application, will run native on ANY Macintosh running System 7 or later. No need to have a 68K version or a PowerMac version.
- Uses standard Macintosh user interface elements for choosing, processing and saving files.
- Runs in the background, so you can carry on doing other things while it's processing or waiting until the next auto-processing time
- Fast. A typical file is processed at about 200 lines/second on a PowerMac 7200/90 with a set of basic options. Ultra fast when coupled with the powerful caching features that mean only the changes to a file need processing when it is processed later.
- Advanced caching features, allow WWWStat4Mac to rapidly reprocess a file in a matter of seconds rather than minutes. You can choose to cache as little or as much as you want depending on your memory requirements.
- Automatic Processing. Set WWWStat4Mac to process a chosen log file at a fixed time each day or at a repeat interval, for example every two hours. This combined with powerful caching features lets you keep the stats pages on your server synchronised with the server log.
- A multitude of powerfull and intuitive options. Editing and customisation can be done rapidly with your favourite text editor.
- A wealth of options available to help in log processing, including powerful filtering and alias features. For example exclude all gif files from the statistics with one simple command
exclude_file *.gif.
- HTML output. WWWStat4Mac can produce either a simple text version, or a more sophisticated TABLE output with graphs and graphics.
- Many different information options in the output including, domains, sites, files and traffic.
- Many different traffic options available including hour of day, day of week, month of year.
- DNS resolving of unresolved names. If your server doesn't resolve the DNS names then let WWWStat4Mac do it for you. Sophisticated DNS caching means that once a name has been looked up it won't need looking up again!
- Full range of sorting options for all of the data. Sort your statistics by date, number of accesses, number of bytes transfered, number of visits, or name.
- Uses the new SIVC Engine to help keep you up to date with the latest versions. WWWStat4Mac will automatically tell you when a new version is available, and will start the download process for you at the click of a button.(*)
- Continued development, commited to maintaining the best log analyser for macintosh. If you find that a feature is not available then ask and I'll see what I can do. Planned features for future versions include support for multiple files, referer and browser information and much more...
- All this for the very reasonable shareware fee of $10. You'll find it hard to find another application (commercial or sharware) with this many features.
(*) This option requires that your Mac is connected to a network when WWWStat4Mac is running. If you use a dialup connection then you will be able to use a menu option to manually contact the SIVC server to check the current version of WWWStat4Mac.
